Freedom of speech is a basic fundamental right that every individual must possess. However, this right does not allow you to mistreat others or use derogatory language towards your peers, neighbors, or relatives.
These days, people often speak without thinking and end up uttering words they should not. The freedom of speech must have limits because, in today's world, everyone has become a self-proclaimed expert, and they all have some information to share. They rarely verify whether the information is true or false; instead, they tend to disseminate whatever they know. Moreover, they often promote hate speech, as evident on social media.
Therefore, in my opinion, limitations on freedom of speech are essential in today's times. Once people learn to exercise restraint in their speech, the world will become a better place to live.
